I used to wonder why people need to grow up, get their own life and move out of the house.
It was Christmas yesterday. I was just hanging out with my nephews watching cartoons… but the five of us in my family were all silently waiting, downplaying the expecations on the main event of the occasion. Scrabble. We waited for my baby brother (22 yrs. old) and the game began.
We have always been a typical low profile family. Simple but happy. As we picked out the tiles of letters from the green bag which came with the entire game set, priceless smiles and laughters echoed not just at the dining table but in our hearts and souls. I will always cherish these kinds of moments with my mom, dad, older sister and younger brother. The night was perfect.
I pray that when I spend Christmas with my own family, a loving husband and smart and healthy kids, I pray that the same love will fill the room of our kitchen. I pray for the same love passed on by my parents to us, so that my future son and daughter will see that invincible legacy their grandparents handed over to us… and pass it forward to the generations to come.
I thank God for sending the epitome of LOVE to humanity.
We will always celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
