In the past several months, I’ve encountered friends at work having their own small business. I am happy about it.  I am happy because the Filipino people are now starting to be awakened by the fact that it is definitely time to start and do something about your future. Starting your own business will take time, effort, most of all money but is definitely worth it. I believe Filipinos are now ready to take risks, but they need more motivation for it. It is a good thing that Filipinos who retired from working abroad go back to the Philippines with their savings and decide to put up their own businesses here in the country.

One great characteristic of us Filipinos is our ability to learn and adapt fast. I’ve known and seen in person and through television how the “balikbayans” go back and settle here and use the skills they learned abroad. They are now planting the best seeds they have gained overseas in our motherland. I encourage my fellow citizens to take action and live the dream. There are different ways to earn, and different means to start. It is said that small and medium enterprises are responsible to driving and boosting the economic sectors. They are likes coals starting up the fire to ignite and mobilize our nation. Hence, starting your own business will not just benefit you but think of the impact it will have to our country that would radically improve the course of economic growth of the Philippines.

This will will be our legacy to the coming generation. Start now… and build the nation.
